A good invitation letter should have all the details of the event the guest is being invited for. It should also include a little extra information to make each one anticipate the event.
Here is a sample letter of invitation for book launch I have written. I have included a background story.
Please note that the names, locations and event information are totally fictional.
Background Story
21 year old Karyn has written her very first book. She is really excited as she sends out invitation letters to family, friends, teachers, and neighbours, asking them to join her for the book launch.

Dear Family and Friends,
INVITATION LETTER
This is to cordially invite you to join me as I launch my first book titled ‘Roots’, this Saturday at Orchid event Centre, by 3pm.
This book of poetry is a book that comprises a combination of poems about Africa and their deep rooted culture, their nature, rich resources, and rich vegetation, and how indead, they are a blessed race.
As a child, I read so many books, and my favorite were those about Africa. I was truely inspired by the stories i read, about Africa and al slavery, and how we (African-Americans) got here. Those stories are what inspired me to write ‘Roots‘.
I will be talking a lot more on this book on Saturday.
It will be really great to have you all attend my book launch. It is an honour I totally look forward to.
See you all there.
Yours truly
Karyn Anthony
